Questions to Ask Yourself Before Hiring a Wedding Planner
To find your answer, here are the questions you should ask yourself when deciding whether or not to hire a wedding planner:
- How long until my wedding? Will I have enough time to look around for vendors myself?
- Will a wedding planner fit in my budget?
- Will I enjoy searching around and contacting vendors?
- Does my job/daily life take too much time to fit in wedding planning?

Who Should Decide to Hire a Wedding Planner?
This is a personal (or joint) decision. Of course, there are exceptions where you might need a wedding planner. If you are trying to plan a wedding that is only a few months away, a wedding planner can get everything done quickly since they know what vendors to use. Also, if you and your fiance both work full-time jobs that take up a lot of time and energy, it might be stress- reducing to have someone do it for you. So, while my personal answer is no, yours might be yes, it is worth it to hire a wedding planner.
Sometimes, you automatically get a wedding planner when you decide on a venue. The price you pay for the venue also includes someone that will help you find the rest of your vendors. Hopefully, they will also be available on the day of the wedding to help with anything that comes up. Here is a day-of wedding timeline! If this is the case, of course you should utilize that person as your planner!

What I Decided
My fiance and I have decided NOT to hire a wedding planner, unless the venue we choose includes one. The whole reason I decided to start this blog is to help others in planning their wedding. You’ll get to come along on this wedding planning journey with us! However, we will hire a day-of coordinator (or use the venue’s coordinator). I want the actual wedding day to be stress-free and enjoyable, so having someone to direct vendors and fix any problems sounds like a good idea! I also purchased a wedding planner (as in a notebook, not a person) to guide me.

So, after asking yourself the 4 questions above, will you (or did you) decide to hire a wedding planner? What was your reason? Share in the comments!
